Welcome and thank you for your interest in volunteering with NHS Tayside.   We acknowledge the valuable contribution our volunteers make to the quality of life of patients, users of services, carers, the organisation and the community.

NHS Tayside Values Volunteers

Our volunteers come from all walks of life and make valuable contributions to enhance the services that we provide to our patients.  There are lots of reasons why people choose to become a volunteer:

To help others
Learn new skills
Make new friends
Improve employment prospects
Become more confident
Get involved in the local community

The one thing our volunteers have in common, is the desire to make a difference and they do!!  if you would like more information about volunteering you can have a look at our 'NHS Guide to Volunteering' and also click on the blue links below to see how you can help.

Our NHS Tayside Volunteering Policy supports volunteer involvement and recognises and appreciates the importance of volunteers in the work of the NHS in Tayside.

If you would like more information on volunteering generally, please take a look at the Volunteer Handbook.

If you are a member of NHS Tayside staff and would like to introduce volunteers to your area your local Voluntary Services Manager will be delighted to support you by providing further information and guidance.  Details of your local contact are given under the 'Where can you Volunteer' link.

and "I have continued as a volunteer with the creative writing group, because I enjoy it, nothing else"
