Infection prevention and control is about improving and protecting the health of everyone in Tayside through the prevention, identification, and management of healthcare associated infection (HAI).
The successful control and prevention of HAI is dependent on creating a managed environment that minimises the risk of infection to patients, staff and the public. For this to work effectively, critical activities, such as hand hygiene, have to be embedded into everyday practice. There must be a culture of “Infection control is everybody’s business”, with integration of best practice into routine activities.
