About Blairgowrie Community Hospital (no A&E)

Blairgowrie Community Hospital is an integrated healthcare facility that serves Blairgowrie, Rattray and the surrounding area. It has a community ward with inpatient beds, various outpatient clinics and an appointment-based minor injuries and illness unit (please do not self-present).

Community Care & Treatment Service

The Community Care and Treatment Service (CCATS) delivers a range of services, including wound care, blood sample services (phlebotomy), chronic disease monitoring (including blood pressure checks), and suture and clip removal.

The CCATS operates on an appointment-only basis. Initial appointments for these treatments are arranged through your GP and follow-up appointments are booked by CCATS staff.

The CCATS in Blairgowrie Community Hospital also offers a minor injuries service for shallow cuts or abrasions, sprains and strains, bruises and skin lesions, and minor burns.

The minor injury service is also by appointment only. If you have a minor injury, call NHS 24 on 111 for clinical advice and to be directed to the most appropriate service for treatment.

There is no-drop-in service in the CCATS and people are asked not to self-present without an appointment as this may lead to a delay in them getting to the most appropriate place for treatment.

Reception is open 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday, excluding Public Holidays. Our reception staff are happy to assist you with your enquiries.

Visitors toilets, including disabled facilities are available.

GP Unit

The GP Unit is a 17 bedded unit.

We do not have a strict visiting time policy, however we ask that consideration is given in the morning, at mealtimes and again at bedtime. Visiting is permitted at mealtimes if a visitor is assisting a patient with a meal. Visitors may be asked to vacate at times when clinical and rehabilitation activities take precedence.

There is a relative’s room next to the ward for those relatives visiting patients receiving palliative care at the end of life. There is tea/coffee making facilities, microwave, television and comfortable seating.
