Stracathro Regional Treatment Centre (SRTC)

Stracathro surgical unit

Admission

On the day of arrival patients are asked to attend the Surgical Unit at the appointment time given and report to reception in the ward, where you will be taken into the ward. This is not the time you will have your procedure but allows medical and nursing staff to admit you to the ward. If you are unable to attend at your appointment time or are coming by public transport or ambulance please contact the Surgical Unit for advice on 01356 665150/665089.

Visiting Times

The Surgical Unit operates an open visiting policy for inpatients between 2-8pm. However, we ask that visitors avoid visiting between 5-6pm as this is a protected meal time. Inpatients and all visitors must report to the department’s reception on arrival. There are no facilities within the ward to cater for relatives/friends waiting for patients to be discharged before 3.30pm.

Interpreter Services

If you require the services of an interpreter, please contact the waiting list secretary well in advance of your admission date, so this can be arranged, the ward does not organise this.

Car Parking

There is ample free car parking available onsite. Disabled parking is available outside the Surgical Unit along with drop off point.

Mobile Phones

Mobile phones can be used in the ward area.

Wifi

Free patient wifi is available
