£600 donated to dermatology ward

An 92-year-old woman from Tayport has donated £600 to the dermatology ward at Ninewells Hospital.

Dorothy Baird, a patient of dermatology, oral maxillofacial and oncology, presented a cheque to Dr Andy Affleck after organising an event featuring the Woodlands Orchestra on 26 September at the Gregory Hall in Tayport.

Dorothy raised the money by selling tickets and organising a raffle.

Dorothy said, “I have had excellent treatment for three years now and cannot fault the dermatology team. This was my way of thanking them for all their hard work.”

Accepting the cheque, Dr Affleck said, “We are very appreciative of this donation and would like to thank Dorothy for her kindness. The money will go towards research and assisting nursing staff.”
