Donation to the lung cancer unit and Roxburghe House

£500 donation split between the lung cancer unit at Ninewells Hospital and Roxburghe House in memory of Bill Henderson.

Family and friends of Bill, who was a patient at the lung cancer unit and Roxburghe House, generously donated money at his funeral.

Elsie, Bill’s wife said, “We had wonderful treatment and care from all the staff who helped care for Bill. Bill said he was overwhelmed with the attention.

“I am very grateful to all our friends and family for their generous donations. We raised £300 and the funeral and I have donated £200 of my own money. The lung cancer unit and Roxburghe House were very important to Bill and I so I wanted to donate something to both areas.”

Accepting the cheque, Macmillan lung cancer nurse specialist Susan Smyth said, “On behalf of both departments I would like to thank Elsie and her family for the kind donation. Bill was a lovely, cheerful character and it was an honour to care for him during his illness.”
