Donations wanted for Ninewells community garden

The Ninewells community garden in Dundee is looking for donations of various items.

Volunteers at the community garden are looking for donations of items for the garden in order to help expand their work and offer more supported gardening sessions.

Items required include basic gardening tools, wheelbarrows, vegetable seeds, seed trays, large pots and containers. Full details of the items required can be found on the Ninewells community garden Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ninewellsgarden or by emailing facilitator@ninewellsgarden.org.uk

The community garden is an area that is accessible for staff, patients and the local community for exercise, recreation and recuperation.

The garden, which is a registered charity, includes herbaceous plants, fruit and vegetables, a sensory garden and a medicinal herb garden in an accessible environment.

The aim of the garden is to promote physical activity and good health through gardening. The garden is supported by volunteers and is open to the public, local groups, hospital staff and patients.

The community garden can be found in the grounds between the Maggie’s Centre and the A&E department. It can be accessed through the hospital following signs for A&E. Parking is available at A&E or on the public road at Ninewells Avenue.

Donations can be brought to the garden or can be collected - contact facilitator@ninewellsgarden.org.uk
