New art exhibition at Whitehills gallery

Patients, staff and visitors at Whitehills Health & Community Care Centre in Forfar can enjoy a new art exhibition showcasing the works of two Angus artists.

Running throughout February and March, the exhibition features artworks by Gordon Tait and Jacqueline Greig.

Gordon, from Arbroath, is exhibiting his work for the first time having taken up painting in his retirement. His favourite medium is oil and his preferred subjects are landscapes and water reflections.

Jacqueline, who lives in Forfar, loves to find treasure from the sea to inspire her to create her art and has been doing so since she was a child. Her pebble art is created using pieces that she finds during her beachcombing trips, including pebbles, driftwood, tumbled sea glass and crockery.

Exhibitions at Whitehills are changed every eight weeks and the majority of the artworks are for sale, with each artist donating 20% commission on all sales to the Whitehills Arts & Environment Fund. All money raised is used to enhance the Whitehills environment.

Situated in the main corridor, the gallery has provided space for many local artists to show their work and the public are invited to pop in and view this new exhibition.
