FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Memorial service for children and babies

A memorial service for babies and children who have died is to be held in Dundee University Chaplaincy Centre on Thursday, 5 May at 7.30pm.

Parents and families who have faced the difficult challenge of a baby or child dying are invited to a short service of remembrance. The service will include music, readings and the lighting of candles in memory of those who have died before, at, or after the time of birth.

Duncan MacLaren, Healthcare Chaplain at NHS Tayside said, "The loss of a child is something you never get over, though the feelings of grief do change. The Children's Memorial Service is an opportunity to gather with others who have lost a child and pause to reflect. It offers space to acknowledge your loss, and to renew precious memories."

The memorial service will end over a cup of tea where those attending will have an opportunity to meet with others who have similar experiences.
