Donation to Oncology at Ninewells

A Dundee couple have raised £1,040 for ward 32 at Ninewells Hospital to thank staff for their care.

Ashley and Willie Clark and their friend Sarah Nicoll raised the money for the oncology ward at Ninewells through a variety of events. The friends decorated wine bottles and glasses, made hampers and held a race night with a raffle.

Ashley said, “Willie was diagnosed with bowel cancer and although he is finished his treatment now, we wanted to do something to thank the nurses in ward 32 who were really nice and took great care of Willie.

“We’d also like to say a huge thank you to our friends and family, especially Sarah, for all their help organising everything and helping to raise money for the ward.”

Accepting the cheque, senior charge nurse Lynne Clarke said, “Thanks to Willie, Ashley and Sarah for their donation to Ward 32. The money they have raised will go towards the purchase of a sports package for the patient day room television.”
