Volunteering opportunities at RVH

NHS Tayside are looking for more volunteers for Macmillan Day Care and Roxburghe House at Royal Victoria Hospital in Dundee

Would you like to play a valuable role in helping patients with life limiting conditions to benefit from attending Macmillan Day Care and Roxburghe House in Dundee? If you can commit a couple of hours every week or fortnight to this voluntary work, then NHS Tayside would like to hear from you.

Our volunteer helpers support nursing staff by providing tea and coffee, serving lunch, chatting with patients and joining in craft activities as well as with administration, driving duties and our community support project

Community Volunteer Service Manager Derek McFarlane said, “We are very fortunate to have a group of dedicated volunteers supporting the work that is carried out at Macmillan Day Care and Roxburghe House.

“Our pool of volunteers requires to be increased. We need more volunteers across all our areas of volunteering roles to help support the services that are being delivered at Roxburghe. Volunteers are often the first faces that patients and their families meet so it is important that volunteers have a friendly, patient and understanding personality.

“A regular commitment of an hour or two a week is all that is required to ensure that the valuable services that volunteers contribute can continue.”

If you are interested in volunteering and would like more information contact Derek McFarlane/Jimmy Orr, Community Volunteer Service Managers, Roxburghe House on 01382 423128 or by emailing dmcfarlane1@nhs.net
