New art exhibition at Whitehills gallery

Patients, staff and visitors at Whitehills Health & Community Care Centre in Forfar can enjoy a new art exhibition in tribute to the late Forfar artist, Douglas Laird. The exhibition has been organised by Douglas’ brother, Graeme.

Running throughout October and November, the exhibition features Douglas’ artwork which depicts the streets of Forfar and views of the surrounding area.

Speaking about Douglas’ work, Graeme said, “Douglas experimented with different styles and techniques. Watercolours, oils, pastels, acrylics, crayon and pencil were all tools of creation in his eye.

“I have organised the exhibition in recognition of Douglas as a local artist and to raise funds for his favourite charity.”

All of Douglas’ artwork is for sale, with 20% commission on all sales being donated to Lippen Care in Forfar.

Situated in the main corridor, the gallery has provided space for many local artists to show their work and the public are invited to pop in and view this new exhibition. Exhibitions at Whitehills are changed every eight weeks.
