Coffee morning raises £800 for Neurology Department at Ninewells

A former patient has donated £800 to the Neurology Department at Ninewells Hospital.

Evelyn Smith from Leven held a coffee morning at her local church, St Kenneth’s Scotland, and donated £800 raised to the Neurology Department as a thank you to staff for taking care of her following an operation earlier this year.

Evelyn said, “I wanted to do something nice to say thank you to everyone who took great care of me.

“My friends and family have been so generous. I am overwhelmed at the amount of money that was raised and that a lot of people took time out to bake for the coffee morning. It brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it.”

Accepting the cheque, Consultant Neurosurgeon Kismet Ibrahim said, “On behalf of the department, I would like to thank Evelyn and her friends and family for their kind donation which will go towards research.”
