Charity art action raises £10,000 for Tayside Healthcare Arts Trust

Tayside Healthcare Arts Trust’s (THAT) fourth fundraising art auction raised an incredible £10,000 for the charity to continue to deliver creative arts programmes for people living with long term health conditions across Tayside.

The charity art auction, held on 17 November in Dundee, received great support from local artists and gave those attending an opportunity to own a piece of original art by well-known contemporary artists and up-and-coming artists.

Karine Neill Development Officer with THAT said, “We are absolutely delighted that the auction raised such a fantastic amount that will allow us to continue to support people across Tayside.

“This was our fourth auction event and everything ran really smoothly. I would like to thank everyone who supported us including the artists who so kindly donated their work, our sponsors and the volunteers who helped us on the night.

“I would particularly like to thank the Art Auction Committee and THAT Chair, Joan Forsyth, whose energy and commitment is the leading force in this event.”

Art enthusiasts had the opportunity to bid at the silent auction on 98 A5 postcard-sized artworks created by artists from across Tayside and North Fife. Steven Dewar of Dundee Auctioneers Curr & Dewar was the auctioneer for the evening and auctioned 59 individual larger pieces of artwork.

Artists who donated artwork include Barry Fantoni, Eileen Gardner, Claire Harkess Joe McIntyre, James Hall Thomson, Ruth Walker, Joyce Cairns, John Johnstone and many more.
