Portable DVD players donated to children’s surgical ward

Perth mother and daughter donate six portable DVD players to the children’s surgical ward at Ninewells Hospital.

Tracey Stewart and her daughter Nicole donated six DVD players to the children’s surgical ward at Ninewells following a short stay in the ward for Nicole.

Tracey said, “Nicole recently had surgery to have grommets put in. After the surgery, she wanted to watch her favourite film but the portable DVD players on the ward weren’t working. I decided then to set up a fundraising page and set a target of £260 to buy new DVD players for the ward.

“I hit my target within the first 24 hours, which was amazing. I was able to buy five DVD players and a friend donated one which made six. I also collected second hand DVDs to expand the DVD library on the ward. Now other children can watch their favourite films while recovering from surgery.”

Accepting the donation, staff nurse Lynne Duncan said, “Thank you to Tracey and Nicole for their kind donation. The children will love it!”
