Calling Little Scribblers in Angus!

NHS Tayside’s Occupational Therapy team is running workshops in Arbroath and Forfar to help develop pre-writing skills.

The fun packed ‘Little Scribblers’ workshops are aimed at children aged 3-5 years and will include ideas on how to develop hand and finger strength, tips on how to support pencil grasp and pre-writing ideas to try at home.

Occupational therapist Fiona Loudon said, “The Child Health Occupational Therapy team in Angus ran two very successful workshops in Arbroath and Montrose recently and we are really excited to be able to run these new sessions in Forfar. Due to demand we’ve also added another date in Arbroath.

“The sessions are one hour long and have different stations for parents and their children to work at, focusing on the key skills that children need to develop their pre-writing skills.

“We hope that parents and carers gain a better understanding of activities and games that they can do together at home that will help handwriting development.”

The workshops will take place at Strathmore Primary School in Forfar from 10-11am on Tuesday 18 July and Tuesday 1 August and at Springfield Medical Centre in Arbroath from 10-11am on Wednesday 26 July.
