New art exhibition at Whitehills gallery

Patients, staff and visitors at Whitehills Health & Community Care Centre in Forfar can enjoy a new art exhibition.

Running throughout August and September, the exhibition features the work of Arbroath artist Frank McDiarmid.

Originally from Glasgow, Frank trained as a cartoonist and illustrator with DC Thomson and drew the famous Roger the Dodger character from the Beano for many years.

After developing his fine art skills, Frank had his own art gallery in Arbroath until 2000 when he started to work from home. Frank now runs art classes in Montrose and still does caricatures at events and for special birthdays.

The gallery is situated in the main corridor of the building and is open to the public all day. All works are for sale with 20% commission on sales being donated to Whitehills.

Situated in the main corridor, the gallery has provided space for many local artists to show their work and the public are invited to pop in and view this new exhibition. Exhibitions at Whitehills are changed every eight weeks.
