The Corner launches ‘Culture of Kindness’ campaign

As part of national Anti-Bullying Week (13-17 November), The Corner has launched a new campaign to address issues young people face around bullying.

Through consultation and discussions with young people and partner organisations, it is evident that bullying is still one of the key issues young people in Dundee are facing.

‘The Corner Culture of Kindness – Be a Nice Human’ campaign runs until mid December and aims to reach out to young people and address issues such as the definitions and differences between bullying and banter, online or bullying and how to access help and support.

It will see the service promote a variety of anti-bullying messages through its drop-in, outreach workshops, social media channels and school-based sessions. A new window design has been created along with resources, literature and interactive activities which address the key themes of the campaign and aim to empower young people with knowledge of healthy relationships and services available to support them.

Staff at The Corner have also recently completed anti-bullying training and the service has an ongoing partnership with RespectMe.

Corner co-ordinator Manjeet Gill said, “It's a great pleasure for The Corner to join RespectMe to support their national anti-bullying campaign this year. It is a good opportunity for Corner staff to deliver and promote this message locally involving young people though face-to-face contacts and by using social media.”
