Visiting Times - AMU

As an emergency care area we are open 24 hours a day and you may visit at any time, but please respect the privacy and rest of your loved one and other patients in the unit when considering this. These visting hours do not apply once your loved one leaves our unit so please be sure to check visiting times with their new ward team.
We would be grateful if visits could be minimised during morning ward rounds: 8am until 11:30am.

Please be aware of the limited space for visitors around the bed and any disturbance to other patients. Chairs are placed in various locations about the ward for you to use. Further chairs can be found in the patient lounge on AMU West.

Staying overnight with your loved one
Please ask the nurse in charge if you need to remain with your loved one throughout the night. Although it is not regular that we would have carers or relatives staying on the ward we understand that there are some circumstances where this may need to happen, such as patients with severe learning difficulties or patients being cared for at the very end of life. In these situations we may be able to assist with temporary sleeping arrangements.
