Adult Services in Angus

Community Hospital Services

Consists of Community Wards within Montrose, Brechin and Arbroath Infirmaries and Whitehills Health and Community Care Centre, Forfar.  The Early Supported Discharge Team based in Ninewells Hospital is managed from within this service.

Medicine for the Elderly Services

Consist of rehabilitation and assessment, which are delivered from in-patient areas and day treatment/hospitals within Stracathro Hospital and Whitehills Health and Community Care Centre, Forfar.  The Stroke Unit also sits with this service.

Psychiatry of Old Age

Services are delivered from in-patient areas and day treatment/hospitals within Susan Carnegie Centre, Stracathro and Whitehills Health & Community Care Centre, Forfar.  There are also 3 Community Mental Health Teams who provide support for older people and their carers within their own communities - either at home or outpatient clinics.

Palliative Care Service

This service is now delivered in 2 areas of Angus - Macmillan Centre, Stracathro and Clova Ward, Whitehills Health and Community Care Centre, Forfar .  The Community Macmillan Team support people with life limiting conditions that have complex symptoms in their own homes, Volunteer Services and Out-Patient Clinics. 

Volunteer Services

Deliver volunteer support to all care settings.  This involves the recruitment, training, support and retention of volunteers.
