Informing, Involving and Consulting in Strathmore

Picture of Blairgowrie Cottage Hospital

Over the next 20 years in Perth & Kinross, just like in every other area in Scotland, we know that there will be many more older people.  The population of over-65s in Perth & Kinross is projected to grow by more than 75%.  At the same time, the number of young people will shrink which means this will have an impact on the workforce available to the NHS.

What this major change to the age range of our communities tells us is that the demands for healthcare and the way in which our services will be delivered will likely be very different in future years.

At the heart of health services in the communities of Strathmore is Blairgowrie Community Hospital.  We know this hospital is a true asset to NHS Tayside, but more importantly to the communities of Strathmore.

NHS Tayside is committed to communicating with, and involving, patients, carers, families and the local community in designing, developing and delivering health services in Strathmore.

NHS Tayside believes that by working together with communities, that is to say the people who are living in the area and those who have first-hand experiences of services here, then health services in Strathmore will be the best they can be for all members of the local community.
