Mr McDonald has been employed in many different roles in NHS Tayside since 1975, commencing as Director of Finance in December 2009.

He has undertaken the Lead Role for Finance on a number of Standing Committees, ensuring that NHS Tayside has effective governance standards and strong financial stewardship of funds. He has also strongly featured at a national level, particularly around the development of the General Medicine and Pharmaceutical Contracts.

Mr McDonald is married with two children. He is an exercise fanatic and undertakes cross-trainer marathons for charitable bodies.
