Mrs Vanessa Shand qualified as a nurse in 1978 and as a midwife in 1987. She has worked for NHS Tayside since 1991. Currently she is the Project Lead for the Maternity Collaborative and Workforce Projects. Mrs Shand is also a Local Supervising Authority Reviewer for the Nursing and Midwifery Council and has been a supervisor of midwives for 10 years. She is a Royal College of Midwives Representative and a member and Vice Chair of the RCM UK Board for Scotland. She was the staff Chairman of the former Tayside University Hospitals Trust.
