The Consultation Process

NHS Tayside, in partnership with key stakeholders, agreed a process for developing a Carer Information Strategy. User and carer involvement was identified as key to the development of this and a ‘Communication and Engagement Sub-Group’ quickly produced an action plan. This is included:

• The recruitment of carers for the Steering and Sub-Groups
• Compiling a list of carers’ groups for written communication
• Creating a questionnaire for distribution through Carers’ Groups
• The organisation of events for carers to contribute to the development of the Strategy

The findings of the informing, engaging and consultation process

Distribution of questionnaires and focus groups events were held across Tayside over the period August to October 2006. The findings from these clearly influenced the development of the strategy. These reports can be accessed from the links below:
