GETTING STARTED

Please discuss any possible volunteering opportunities with the local Service Manager for the area you are interested in.    Once you have agreed where you would like to volunteer and if there are voluntary places available,  you can then download and complete the Application Form.  The Service Manager will assist you in processing any remaining relevant paperwork which includes 2 character references, Disclosure Scotland clearance and possibly  an Occupational Health Check.

You will be given a clear description of the tasks you will be asked to carry out and we would like to assure you that all roles are risk assessed.  You will be introduced to staff and shown around the area where you will be volunteering and will receive background information about the service/department.  You will be invited to attend an induction and any other relevant training, so you have the necessary information you need to carry out your role confidently and effectively.  There will be an initial trial period to help you to settle in and ensure you are enjoying your role.
