As well as meeting the health needs of more than 388,780 people resident in the region NHS Tayside provides the clinical teaching for Dundee University’s Medical School undergraduate curriculum.  This is a five - year course with approximately 160 students in each year.  In addition NHS Tayside trains 93 newly qualified doctors per year.
