Dundee FC share trophy success with Tayside Children’s Hospital
Dundee Football Club paid a visit to Ninewells Hospital today (Thursday) to meet patients from Tayside Children’s Hospital.
Managing Director John Nelms was joined by players Luka Tankulic and Thomas Konrad on the visit which took in wards 29 and 30 and the children’s outpatient clinics.
The group brought along the Scottish Championship trophy to the delight of young fans in the hospital who had the opportunity to meet the players and have their photograph taken with the cup.
Senior charge nurse Suzie Byers said, “I would like to say thanks on behalf of the patients and staff in Tayside Children’s Hospital to the director and players at Dundee FC for taking some time out to visit the children while they are in hospital.
“The children and their families are often going through a difficult time but visits like this really lift everyone’s spirits and put a big smile on the children’s faces. We have a great relationship with Dundee FC and everyone at Tayside Children’s Hospital loves it when they come to see us.”
John Nelms added, “We really enjoyed coming in today and meeting the children, their families and the staff. Hopefully seeing the players helped to brighten up the children’s day a little. We brought the Scottish Championship trophy with us so we could share our success with fans and give the kids the chance to meet some of their local football heroes.”
