Tayside nurse consultant makes UK top 100 clinicians list
An NHS Tayside nurse consultant has been included in the nationally acclaimed Health Service Journal’s Clinical Leaders List for 2014.
Jacqueline Thompson, Nurse Consultant Older People, was nominated by a colleague in recognition for her work as advanced nurse practitioner at Central Manchester University Hospitals Trust. Ms Thompson has recently moved to Tayside to take up the post of Nurse Consultant Older People, one of just three nurse consultants for older people in Scotland.
The Health Service Journal (HSJ) 2014 Clinical Leaders List is drawn from nominations submitted by the journal’s readers which went before a panel of judges who, after much deliberation, whittled the long list down to just 100 individuals from across the spectrum of healthcare.
The HSJ Clinical Leaders List celebrates those working in healthcare who not only excel in their professional specialism, but whose impact extends beyond their professional sphere through influencing health policy, service transformation and innovation.
Commenting on her nomination Jacqueline said, “I was thrilled and honoured to be recognised in the 100 HSJ UK’s clinical leaders list for 2014. This nomination acknowledges the transformational work that nurses bring to clinical practice every day.”
