Presenting Tom with his gifts, head of nursing for critical care, Barbara Soutar, said “Tom has made a significant contribution to patients, their families and colleagues over his many years with NHS Tayside.
“Tom has demonstrated unwavering professionalism and commitment to patient care, support to his colleagues and the many students he has mentored. Patients and their families regularly refer to Tom's kind professional care that has made a difference to their experience at what can be a very difficult time.
“He is highly respected by his many colleagues in critical care and will be greatly missed by all. It's my privilege and pleasure on behalf of NHS Tayside and critical care services, to thank Tom and to wish him a healthy and happy retirement.”
