Donation to ward 32 at Ninewells
Dundee woman has donated £4,400 to the chemotherapy day unit on ward 32 at Ninewells Hospital.
Sheila Nimmo raised the money by holding a garden party for friends and family. Local businesses donated prizes for a raffle and auction they had on the day.
Sheila is receiving treatment at the unit for the second time for breast cancer having previously been treated in 2008.
She said, “I was overwhelmed by the amount of money raised and the generosity of local businesses who donated prizes for the raffle.
“The unit is very important to many people. The staff are kind and compassionate. They are positive and care about everyone they treat.”
Accepting the cheque staff nurse Sandra King said, “Sheila's family and friend were great company at the garden party. On behalf of the department I would like to thank them for their generous donation.”
