Little Cairnie site on market
Little Cairnie Hospital in Arbroath is now being marketed for sale following NHS Tayside Board’s approval to dispose of the site.
Earlier this year, NHS Tayside introduced a new community-based model of care for the South Angus locality which involves a variety of professionals including GPs, district nurses, occupational therapists and physiotherapists, pharmacists and specialist hospital doctors working together as a single team to support individual patients. The team provides care and support in the patient’s own home and, where possible, avoid hospital admission.
The Enhanced Community Support model has proved very successful and has been making a real difference to patients and their families across South Angus.
With the introduction of this new model providing services more appropriately in the community, the facilities at Little Cairnie are no longer required. NHS Tayside Board approved the Little Cairnie site for disposal and it is now on the market.
