Donation to Neurology Department
Dundee couple Eddie and Edna O’Connor have donated £1000 to the neurology department at Ninewells Hospital in memory of Edna’s son, Kenneth.
Kenneth McGregor died last year aged 28 from SUDEP, which means sudden unexplained death due to epilepsy possibly.
To mark the first anniversary of Kenneth’s death, his mum Edna and stepfather Eddie held a charity night and a darts competition to raise awareness of SUDEP and to raise funds for research into epilepsy.
The couple presented a cheque for £1000 to consultant neurologist Dr Ian Morrison. A second cheque for £2728.34 was presented to Chris Jeans from SUDEP Action, a charity which provides support and counselling for people bereaved by epilepsy.
Accepting the cheque, Dr Morrison said, “I would like to thank Edna and Eddie for their generous donation which will be used for further research into epilepsy.”
