Donation to ward 33
A Dundee man has donated £500 to the stroke unit at Ninewells Hospital.
Jim Irving held a quiz night and raffle to raise money for the stroke unit at Ninewells.
Jim had a stroke eight years ago and has been holding an annual quiz night to raise money for the unit ever since. He has raised over £5,000 for the unit in the past eight years.
Jim said, “Everyone on the ward was very nice to me when I had my stroke and treated me well. I’ve been raising money for the unit since. It’s just my way of saying thank you.”
Senior charge nurse, Fay Cunningham and physiotherapist, Laura Irvine accepted the cheque on behalf of the unit.
Fay said, “On behalf of the stroke unit, thank you very much for all your kind donations over the years.”
Laura said, “This year the money will be used for a therapy treatment box to be used by patients on the ward.”
