New Year’s Day Dook raises money for Neonatal Unit

Two brave Dundee women took part in this year’s New Year’s Day Dook to raise money for the Neonatal Unit at Ninewells Hospital.

Jude Hendry and Ashley Milne from Dundee braved the freezing cold water at Broughty Ferry beach on New Year’s day to raise £285 for the Neonatal Unit.

Jude said, “We decided to raise money for the Neonatal Unit because we have friends and colleagues whose babies received treatment there. They have always said nice things about the unit and the incredible work the staff do there. Our employer DC Thomson matched our fundraising, making the total raised £650.”

Accepting the donation, senior nurse Alison Wright said, “We are delighted to accept this donation from Jude and Ashley who very bravely participated in the New Year’s Day Dook. We are always very grateful for donations received and we will use the money for the benefit of babies and their families in our care.”
