Health and Wellbeing Business Event held in Dundee
NHS Tayside’s healthy Working Lives Workplace team hosted a health and wellbeing business event in The Circle in Dundee aimed at people working in charities and social enterprises across Tayside.
The event aimed to highlight the range of free workplace support available from NHS Tayside, the Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives and other local agencies to both employers and employees in local small to medium sized enterprises.
A variety of information and support was available on the day with the aim of supporting individual workers and self-employed people in adopting healthier lifestyles. There was also help on hand to answer any health, safety or wellbeing concerns and signposting to free services that can provide further information or assistance.
Information stalls, lifestyle health checks, mini physiotherapy sessions, energy advice and financial advice were on offer and attendees had the chance to try out the Sense Scotland exercise bike which produces pedal-powered smoothies.
Sylvia Mudie, Health Improvement Adviser with NHS Tayside, said “Events such as these are helpful in bringing a range of information and support directly to workers close to their workplace to highlight the importance of health, safety and wellbeing at work.”
Healthy Working Lives provides free tailored support, advice and training. The NHS Tayside Workplace Team engages with local workplaces to achieve improved health, safety and wellbeing. This helps increase productivity, reduce sickness absence and employee turnover and promote a safer, healthier workplace.
The event was supported by The Circle, Dundee City Council, Discovery Credit Union, PAM OH Solutions, Sense Scotland, Working Health Services, Scottish Association for Sleep Apnoea and Home Energy Scotland.
