Drop-in service for hearing aid users Perth & Kinross

A new service run by volunteers to help hearing aid users is being delivered at various locations across Perth & Kinross.

A FREE drop-in re-tubing clinic and replacement battery service is being delivered across Perth & Kinross. This new drop-in clinic is part of a Tayside-wide service which is being delivered by specially trained volunteers.

The volunteers have been trained by NHS Tayside’s Audiology Service and can replace the tubing in ear moulds and provide replacement batteries for NHS hearing aid users. Unfortunately volunteers are unable to re-tube open fit aids which have the thin wire with tip in ear.

It is important that hearing aid users bring along their yellow book as this is required to be produced to receive batteries.

Samantha Batty, Head of Service NHS Tayside Audiology and Balance Service, said, “We are very pleased that volunteers have taken on this role with the support from the NHS Tayside’s audiology team.

“With drop-in clinics taking place at various locations across the county it is hoped that hearing aid users will find this service helpful.”
