Dr Bike provides health checks at Ninewells
Dr Bike is offering free bike maintenance and safety checks at Ninewells Hospital on Thursday, 9 August to encourage more people to get active and think about cycling.
Staff, visitors and students are invited to come along to the Dr Bike event at the Fresh Air Garden at Ninewells Hospital on Thursday 11am until 2.30pm as part of an initiative by NHS Tayside to promote safe cycling.
The Dr Bike team will provide a free safety check of your bike, and if there is time, minor problems will be fixed. The team will also be able to provide advice on buying a bike, a bike rack, cycling gear, how to recycle an old bike, family cycling, and answer questions about cycling for work or recreation.
Mary Colvin, senior health improvement practitioner with NHS Tayside said, “We hope staff, visitors and students will take advantage of this helpful offer and have their bikes checked and take the opportunity to get advice from professional bike mechanics.
“As a health promoting health service we want to enable all our staff to find ways to be active at work and this event is just one of the many ways we promote an active workplace and an active workforce.”
