New art exhibition at Whitehills gallery

Patients, staff and visitors at Whitehills Health & Community Care Centre in Forfar can enjoy a new exhibition.

Running until the end of December, the exhibition features landscape photography by Angus photographer John-Paul Bell.

Speaking about his work, John-Paul said, “This is my second exhibition at Whitehills. This time I’ve tried to promote Angus and its surrounding areas. It’s a fantastic place to live and photograph, and we’re lucky to have the variety of landscapes here, from the fringes of the Cairngorms National Park in north Angus to the beaches at Arbroath and Carnoustie in the south. I have also sneaked in a handful of images from the West and North West Highlands as they’re favourites of mine and pretty special places.

“I took up photography in late 2012. I’d started travelling all over Scotland to walk various hills and mountains and I wanted to have a lasting memory of some of the amazing sights I saw. Photography is a hobby for me as I work full-time but it gets me out of the house, although I do sometimes question the sanity of getting up at 5am on a Saturday to drive to a remote beach on the off-chance that there might be a nice sunrise!”

The gallery is situated in the main corridor of the building and is open to the public daily from 9am until 7pm. All works are for sale with 20% commission on sales being donated to Whitehills.

Situated in the main corridor, the gallery has provided space for many local artists to show their work and the public are invited to pop in and view this new exhibition.
