Irene celebrates 20 years of volunteering

A Roxburghe House volunteer was treated to a surprise tea party to mark 20 years service with NHS Tayside.

Irene Morrison has been volunteering at the specialist palliative care unit at Royal Victoria Hospital in Dundee since March 1999, carrying out a variety of roles from driving to serving refreshments to patients.

To celebrate this milestone, staff and other volunteers at Roxburghe House surprised her with a cake and tea party. Irene also received a certificate from NHS Tayside Volunteer Services to mark her achievement.

Alison Sellars, volunteer service co-ordinator for specialist palliative care services, said, “Irene can be counted on to help in any way she can. While serving tea and coffee she is a friendly happy face who people can talk to at ease. Irene is a credit to our volunteer team.”
