Volunteers recognised at Ninewells Gift Shop celebration

Volunteers who help run the Tayside Health Fund Gift Shop gathered at Ninewells Hospital to mark the reopening of the shop.

The Gift Shop, which is located on the main concourse of Ninewells, was closed for a short time to allow for redecoration and to stock up the shelves with lots of new gifts and brands.

Gillian Moran, acting fundraising development manager and Lorna Donnelly, fundraising support assistant, invited the volunteers along to the reopening for tea and cake to thank them for their support over the years. They were also presented with a certificate from Volunteer Dundee in recognition of their service.

Gillian said, “The Gift Shop was last redecorated in 2014 and there has been a few changes since then. Some volunteers have retired and moved on and we've had lots of new volunteers start with us.  We also opened The Little Gift Shop next door to the main shop and we now have around 25 volunteers working across the two stores.

“The funds generated by the gifts shops make a big difference to patients and families across Tayside and we're always looking for new volunteers to join our friendly team. If you fancy spending a few hours a week helping in the shops please get in touch, we’d be delighted to hear from you.”

The Gift Shop has gifts and cards for every occasion from birthdays to weddings. The Little Gift Shop stocks a range of products for expectant parents, babies and children. Both shops are open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm.
