Brechin family donates to Stracathro

The Stewart family donated a significant sum of money to Ward 2, Stroke Unit & Day Hospital at Stracathro Hospital in memory of their husband and father.

Margaret Stewart and her family asked that the donation be used to purchase a piece of patient moving and handling equipment in memory of Margaret’s late husband Ed, who sadly passed away in the ward earlier this year.

Margaret said, “I am delighted to see that the money which we donated has been used to purchase a Sara Stedy. This piece of patient mobility equipment is exactly what we had in mind.”

Senior charge nurse Jim Henderson thanked the family on behalf of Ward 2 and the Angus Health & Social Care Partnership. Jim said, “This equipment will be beneficial in terms of assisting patients to transfer and mobilise, whilst at the same time helping to promote their independence.

“It will be most appreciated by both patients and staff here at the ward. We are grateful to the Stewarts for their very kind and generous donation.”
