Exhibition by Gowanlea Art Groups opens
Gowanlea Art Groups invite the public to the grand opening of their art exhibition at Arbroath Library on Monday, 4 November.
The art groups run by Gowanlea Community Mental Health Team Occupational Therapy Department welcome the public to attend the opening of their art exhibition hosted at Arbroath Library at 5pm to 6.30pm on Monday, 4 November.
The exhibition will showcase work produced by the art groups. There will be art works available for sale and a Game of Thrones-inspired Throne of Swords, made out of paper mache will be raffled off.
NHS Tayside Senior Occupational Therapist Hilary Hart said, “Art, as a therapeutic activity, is an immensely beneficial treatment medium. People enjoy participating, being creative and involvement in the group is very helpful for an individuals' self esteem and self confidence.
“Everyone is very excited to have their works exhibited. We would be delighted if people were able to attend, and hope that people will enjoy the exhibition and perhaps even buy some artwork. The money raised from the sale will be brought back into our occupational therapy groups.”
The exhibition runs until Friday 15 November.
