Catering service staff retire after 69 years combined service

Catering services staff Edna Blacklaws and Fiona Wands have retired from NHS Tayside after 69 years combined service.

Fiona and Edna worked in catering services at Sunnyside Hospital before moving to Stracathro Hospital. Fiona began her career with NHS Tayside 28 years ago and Edna 41 years ago.    

Retail catering services manager David Bayne said, “Edna and Fiona have 69 years experience between them. Both of these ladies have made huge contributions to hospital catering services in Angus. 

“Edna and Fiona have been the faces of business catering at both Sunnyside Hospital and Stracathro Hospital.

“On behalf of NHS Tayside, their work colleagues and customers, we wish them a long, happy and healthy retirement as they begin a new chapter in their lives.”
