A stellar response to NHS Tayside STAR Awards
It has been another record year for NHS Tayside’s Staff Appreciation and Recognition (STAR) Awards nominations.
Patients, relatives, members of the public and staff have been busy nominating since the end of January, with a total of 903 nominations being made for individuals, services and teams for who have delivered outstanding care or gone the extra mile in their role.
The nominations period is now closed and a multi-disciplinary panel will shortlist the entries to six finalists in each of the categories. There will then be a gold, silver and bronze winner for each category which will be announced at the STAR Awards ceremony at the Apex City Quay Hotel in May.
NHS Tayside Chair Lorna Birse-Stewart said, “We are delighted by the number of nominations that we have received and I would like to thank everyone who took the time to nominate someone. Last year we received over 750 nominations and it is wonderful that we have exceeded that target!
“Now in their fourth year, the STAR Awards celebrate the individuals, teams and services working within NHS Tayside that deliver outstanding patient care or go the extra mile in their job.
“The range of nominations reflects the hard work and commitment of our staff who, every day, work to deliver high-quality healthcare services to people all over Tayside.
“We know from feedback from those individuals and teams nominated that being recognised in this way is a tremendous boost to morale and very much appreciated. I would like to wish everyone the best of luck.”
