NHS dentists reintroduce routine care
Dentists are now moving onto the next stage of reintroducing routine NHS care.
From Monday, 13 July, your dentist will be able to provide any routine dental care that does not involve the dental drill or aerosols.
This means that your dentist will now be able to carry out procedures such as check ups, hand scaling and giving advice, but will be unable to provide care that would require the dental drill to be used such as fillings, root canal treatments, crowns or veneers.
Dentists are still severely restricted in the treatments they can offer and unless you are in pain or have an urgent dental need, please wait for your dentist to contact you regarding routine exams or care in the normal way.
Staff and patient safety remain a priority and your own dentist will continue to work with NHS Tayside Urgent Dental Care Centres to ensure that patients can safely access the services they need.
