Half a million jabs!

The vaccination programme in Tayside has now delivered a total of half a million jabs since the programme began in December last year.

NHS Tayside Director of Public Health, Dr Emma Fletcher said, “It’s fantastic to have reached this milestone of 500,000 vaccinations. Our vaccination teams have put in a huge effort to reach this stage and we are so grateful to everyone from NHS Tayside, the health and social care partnerships, our GP colleagues, local authority partners and community volunteers who have played a part in this.

“A huge thank you also goes to everyone in Tayside who has rolled up their sleeve so far and been vaccinated. We know that getting both doses of the vaccination is the best protection against the virus and our route to getting back to normal life.

“We are now running drop-in clinics across Tayside as well as our clinics for those with appointments so I would strongly encourage everyone who is eligible to take up the offer of a vaccine.

“Even once you have been vaccinated, please keep following the FACTS guidance and help us get the numbers of cases in Tayside back down. We’ve done if before and we can do it again.”
