Jubilant Jubilee Celebrations at Kingsway Care Centre
Patients at Kingsway Care centre in Dundee celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in style with a special afternoon concert.
Staff at the centre decided to mark the historical Queen’s Platinum Jubilee by hosting a concert and afternoon tea party for patients.
From the regal blue, red and white balloons to the resplendent Union Jack bunting there was no mistaking the effort and care staff at the centre took to ensure patients were able to join in the fun and enjoy the afternoon celebrations.
Patients were treated to special individually wrapped Jubilee themed cakes and were able to toast The Queen with a glass of sparking juice, making it a right royal tea party.
The highlight of the afternoon for the patients was the musical performance by local Dundee group ‘Singing Sisters’. Debbie Patterson and Stacey Jarrett performed a selection of toe-tapping songs from the last seven decades in honour of Her Majesty’s 70-year reign.
Kingsway Care Centre Clinical Nurse Manager, Kirsty McManus, said, “It has been a fabulous afternoon for everyone. Staff were determined that patients at Kingsway Care Centre would not miss out on the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations.
“It has been a real team effort to make the day such a success and I would like to thank Debbie and Stacey for joining us and for entertaining the patients with their singing. I know that I speak on behalf of all the staff when I say that we hope that our celebrations to mark Queen’s Platinum Jubilee were enjoyed by all.”
