Time to Talk @ The Corner
The Corner is hosting an open morning as part of See Me Scotland’s ‘Time to Talk’ campaign.
All are welcome to drop in between 10am and noon on Thursday, 2 February to chat with staff and find out more about the services offered by The Corner. There will also be tea, coffee and goodie bags available for visitors.
Taylor McGrath, an Abertay University mental health nursing student on placement at The Corner, said, “We have collaborated with See Me Scotland to create an event which will reinforce our value that every young person should be seen and heard.
“What The Corner stands for is something I am so passionate about. It is somewhere you can go at a time when you feel you need someone to see you, and they do. Every time.
“This is my first time running an event through placement and I can’t wait to see everyone and encourage them to ask for support if they need it.”
The Corner is based in Dundee and offers a wide range of services for young people aged 11-19, including sexual health, emotional health and counselling, as well as crisis support for those up to age 25.
You can follow The Corner on Facebook and Twitter @TheCornerDundee and on Instagram @cornerdundee. You can also visit the website at www.thecorner.co.uk
See Me Scotland is a programme run by the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH) which is designed to end mental health stigma and discrimination, particularly with young people in mind. Time to Talk day takes place on the first Thursday in February every year and aims to get people across Scotland talking about mental health.
