IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

A stellar response to NHS Tayside STAR Awards

It has been a record year for NHS Tayside’s Staff Appreciation and Recognition (STAR) Awards, with an out-of-this-world 1026 nominations made by the public and staff.

The STAR Awards closed for nominations at 5pm on 25 July.

Chair of NHS Tayside, Lorna Birse-Stewart said, “I would like to thank everyone who took the time to nominate someone. It’s wonderful to have received such a high number of nominations for staff across all of our job families.

“This year’s total of nominations is even higher than last year’s record post-COVID number of nominations so it really is fantastic that our staff continue to be recognised for their dedication. I know everyone who has been nominated will really appreciate it.

“I would also like to thank our sponsors who are supporting the awards.”

Everyone who has been nominated for a STAR Award will receive an email over the coming days to let them know that they have been nominated.

A multi-disciplinary panel will now shortlist the entries to six finalists in each of the nine categories. A judging panel will then choose a gold, silver and bronze winner for each category which will be announced at the STAR Awards ceremony at the Apex City Quay Hotel in September.

The STAR Awards are delivered in partnership with Tayside Health Fund, Unison, NHS Credit Union, Unite, University of Dundee School of Medicine and Apex Hotels.
