Patients, staff and visitors at Whitehills Health & Community Care Centre in Forfar can enjoy a new exhibition.

Forfar local amateur photographer Ian Bain, who is living with life-limiting progressive neurological condition, motor neurone disease (MND) has displayed his fantastic photography in Whitehills Health & Community Care Centre gallery space.

After encouragement and financial support from MND Scotland to bring the exhibition together, Ian’s artwork will be is available to purchase and any profit made from sales will be donated to MND Scotland.

The art exhibition which features photography from Ian’s travels across Scotland will run from 5 September to 28 October.

Ian hopes the exhibition will raise awareness about motor neurone disease and will deliver a charitable contribution to a deserving cause.

Speaking about his art, Ian said, “Being diagnosed with MND in 2014 was life changing, but I have always loved getting out and about, either playing or participating in sports or out in the hills and mountains of Scotland and on most occasions I have my camera with me.

“I joined Brechin camera club in 2017 and bought my first digital camera. Photography has become my passion and it takes my mind off my condition. Most days I try to photograph something, either as an experiment or as a result of being inspired by so many great photographers.

“Taking photographs lets me enjoy this wonderful world through the lens of a camera and leaves MND out of the picture.”

The gallery is situated in the main corridor of the building and is open to the public daily from 9am until 7pm. All works are for sale and the money will be donated to MND Scotland.

Situated in the main corridor, the gallery has provided space for many local artists to show their work and the public are invited to pop in and view this new exhibition.
